It’s spring and we are cleaning out the closets, digging in the gardens, taking off the storm windows and moving back outside. Nature provides us with some tools to help our bodies make the transition from the heaviness of winter to the lightness of spring:

– try drinking a daily cup of dandelion tea (roots or leaves) to clean the mucus out of your system

– take advantage of the new leafy greens and sprouts as they arrive, replenishing the intestinal flora

– and later in the season, boost your lymph system with berries and cherries

– add some twists to your asana practice and deepen your breath

It’s the time of year to reconnect with your neighbours and community. You could check out the annual Emergency Festival of new dance and performance presented by Public Energy www,publicenergy.ca. It’s happening all this week in several venues and well worth a look.

At the studio we had our very successful inaugural session of the Sunday Workshop Series with the Mudras + the 5 Koshas on Sunday May 5. The next Sunday offering happens June 2: Healing Through the Five Elements. For more information go to the workshop page.
